At the UN 48th Committee on Information on 27 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations, stressed the need to protect the information ecosystem from misinformation, disinformation and hate speech, while strengthening media literacy and outreach—especially to women, youth, and local communities. Thailand supports modernization of the United Nations through AI and data, guided by responsible and inclusive governance. Bridging the digital divide and advancing multilingualism, including through innovative tools, are essential to ensure the UN’s message reaches all.
