On 19 March 2026, the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations in New York, in collaboration with the United Nations Delegations Spouses’ Club (UNDSC), hosted a Tea Party under the theme “Art of Thai Fabrics,” highlighting culture, craftsmanship, and sustainability. The event also celebrated the legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother through Thailand’s rich textile heritage that continues to empower communities and support local artisans.

The event presented Thai textiles as a cultural inheritance that reflects Thailand’s identity and wisdom as well as their evolution and modern adaptation utilizing technology to expand global accessibility. The programme featured an AI virtual try-on of Chud Thai, demonstration of traditional block printing and contemporary textile design by Khom Fabrics. The guests also enjoyed the relish of authentic Thai cuisine.

The event underscored Thailand’s commitment to promoting culture and textiles as drivers of sustainable development, community resilience, and women’s empowerment.
