On 3 February 2026, Mrs. Tuenjai Kongsombat, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Social Development and Human Security, attended the 64th Session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Thailand is currently a member of CSocD for the year 2026 - 2029.

In line with the priority theme of this year, the Deputy Permanent Secretary delivered Thailand’s statement stressing coordinated, equitable and inclusive policies to promote social development. Thailand aimed to ensure cross-sector coordination and the whole-of-government approach to social development, promoting equity through targeted support and digital technology, and advancing a life-course approach to strengthen social inclusion. Deputy Permanent Secretary Tuenjai also reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to the Copenhagen Declaration and Doha Political Declaration and looked forward to working with all partners to promote social development for all.

The CSocD meets in February every year to discuss ways to promote social development at the international level, in line with the Copenhagen Declaration and Plan of Action adopted 30 years ago.
