On 15 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations in New York, delivered a statement during the General Debate of the First Committee on Disarmament and International Security. The Ambassador emphasized Thailand’s clear position in upholding international peace and security as well as its strong commitment to promoting disarmament and non-proliferation through relevant international instruments.

Thailand firmly condemned the use of anti-personnel mines in all circumstances, which cause indiscriminate suffering. By joining the Secretary-General’s Global Advocacy Campaign on Humanitarian Disarmament and Mine Action, Thailand reaffirmed its commitment to advancing humanitarian demining and contributing to the shared goal of a mine-free world.
