On 24 July 2025, Ambassador Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations in New York, met with Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations in New York, in his capacity as President of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for July 2025, to submit a formal letter outlining the facts related to the use of military force initiated by Cambodia, as well as its violations of international obligations. Thailand has also requested for this letter to be circulated as an official document of the UNSC so that all Council members are formally informed.

On the same day, the Permanent Mission also circulated a letter on this matter to Member States and Permanent Observers to the UN.
