On 19 August 2025 At the UNSC Open Debate on conflict-related sexual violence, H.E. Mr. Vathayudh Vichankaiyakij, Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations in New York, underscored prevention through resolving disputes peacefully, promoting gender equality and empowering women’s participation at all levels of decision-making. He also stressed that prevention of conflict-related sexual violence must be integrated into every stage of peace processes and peacebuilding and advocated for the presence of women peacekeepers and women’s protection advisers on the ground.
