In January 2025, the officials and staff members of the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations organized activities on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua’s attaining the same age of 26,469 days as His Majesty King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok the Great (Rama I), the founder of the Chakri Dynasty.

On 8 January, Mr. Vathayudh Vichankaiyakij, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i., presided over the merit-making ceremony and offered alms to the monks at the New York Dhammaram Temple. Officials including those from the Military Affairs Office and staff of the Mission attended the ceremony.   

On 23 January, H.E. Mr. Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations, led officials and staff members to visit the Mainchance Drop-In Center, a 24/7 shelter in Midtown Manhattan near the Mission’s Office. The team donated jasmine rice, food, toiletries, and clothes for the Center, which supports homeless population in the area especially during the cold winter. The Center is operated by Grand Central Neighborhood Social Services Corporation (GCNSSC). Ms. Jackie Conner, Deputy Executive Director, and Mr. Adam Allan, Human Resource Manager and Executive Administrative Assistant, received the donation on behalf of the organization.
