On 22 October 2026, the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations in New York held a commemorative ceremony and Buddhist chanting ceremony in honour of Her Majesty the late Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations, and attended by officials of the Permanent Mission and the Office of the Military Advisor, together with their spouses. The ceremony provided an occasion for all participants to pay their deepest respect and humbly commemorate Her Majesty’s boundless benevolence.

On this occasion, Ambassador Cherdchai, on behalf of all participants, offered a special arrangement of sandalwood flowers, which will be sent to Thailand for presentation at the Royal Cremation Ceremony at the Royal Crematorium, Sanam Luang, in December 2026.
