On 13 March 2025, the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations in New York held a ceremony to receive "Phra Phuttha Sirindhorn Theparat Mongkhol Phuwadol Santi " Buddha statue, graciously bestowed upon by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. His Excellency Mr. Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations in New York, presided over the ceremony. The officials from the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations in New York and the Office of Military Advisors attended the event.
Her Royal Highness graciously bestowed the 20-inch-tall Buddha statues in the "Leela" (walking) posture upon Thai institutions in Thailand and overseas including the Permanent Mission of Thailand. "Phra Phuttha Sirindhorn Theparat Mongkhol Phuwadol Santi” has a literal meaning of “The Buddha, a divine jewel who embodies auspiciousness, bringing blessings and peace to the land." It is meant to bring "auspiciousness, happiness and well-being and for the prosperity of our nation, religions, the Monarchy, the Thai people and the people of the world.”
