The Permanent Mission of Thailand hosted a reception on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand and Thailand’s Father’s Day, at the Permanent Mission.

His Excellency Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand, presided over the reception and delivered his remarks, highlighting His Majesty’s contributions to sustainable development and enhancing people’s livelihood, as well as Thailand’s roles in promoting multilateral agenda, especially through the United Nations. Ambassador Chindawongse also presented Thailand’s candidature to the Human Right Council for the term 2025-2027, as ASEAN Candidate, to further the country’s constructive role in the promotion and protection of human rights.

The President of the 78th Session of the General Assembly and the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations also delivered short remarks on this occasion.

Also attended the reception were Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives and other high-level representatives of Member States and Observers of the United Nations, as well as the heads / representatives of United Nations agencies.
