On 22 October 2020, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the ASEAN’s Foreign Ministers’ Meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General and the President of the 75th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (AUMM).

The meeting highlighted cooperation on COVID-19 recovery, complementarities between ASEAN Vision 2025 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, promotion of multilateralism in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations. The Meeting was chaired by H.E. Mr. Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and 2020 Chair of ASEAN, and was attended by H.E. Mr. António Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Volkan Bozkir, the President of the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly, the Foreign Ministers of ASEAN Member States, the Secretary-General of ASEAN, H.E. Mr. Lim Jock Hoi, and senior officials of ASEAN and the UN.

The Meeting also adopted the new ASEAN-United Nations Plan of Action for 2021-2025.
