On 8 April 2026, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations joined a lunch talk on “Thailand and the United Nations: An 80 Years’ Journey,” organized by the Southeast Asian Student Association (SEASA), School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), at Columbia University.
Ambassador Cherdchai Chaivaivid highlighted Thailand’s policies and contributions to peace and security, development, and human rights at the United Nations over the past 80 years. He also shared views on current geopolitical situations and challenges to multilateralism. The session featured an interactive exchange with students on key international issues, including the situation in the Middle East, Thailand - Cambodia relations, and development inequality.
