On 10 December 2018, H.E. Mr. Vitavas Srivihok, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations, New York together with H.E. Mr. Nipon Petchpornprapas,Consul General, hosted a reception to celebrate the auspicious occasions on 5 December 2018, namely,  the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Thailand’s Father’s Day.                                                                                                                                                                                                   The reception was attended by over 600 guests, including members of diplomatic corps of the United Nations, the Permanent Missions of Member States to the United Nations, New York, as well as officers from various offices of the Royal Thai Government in New York, their spouses, and members of the Thai communities in New York and surrounding areas. Since 2013, the celebration of 5 December each year also coincides with “World Soil Day” as declared by the UN General Assembly in order to raise awareness on the importance of soil to agricultural development, natural system, and our well-being.
