In the morning of 15 January 2019, H.E. Mr. Vitavas Srivihok, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the UN, Chair of the Asia and Pacific Group (APG) for the month of January 2019, delivered a statement on behalf of APG to congratulate and express APG’s full support to the State of Palestine as Chair of the Group of 77 and China for 2019.
H.E. Mrs. María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés, President of the 73rd Session of the General Assembly, UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, and H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine were present at the ceremony. The State of Palestine took over the Chairmanship of G77 and China from Egypt, Chair for the year 2018
