Message from H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand
The Kingdom of Thailand is pleased to join with the international community in celebrating a very important milestone for the United Nations, the 75th Anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter on 26 June 2020.
As a peace-loving nation, Thailand wholeheartedly supports the bold aspirations of the UN Charter in uniting countries for lasting peace and stability and establishing a conducive environment for development and prosperity.
Amidst current global challenges and emerging threats, the COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated more than ever our interdependence and the need for greater cooperation. At the critical juncture of the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations, the international community needs to strengthen global solidarity and unity, as well as demonstrate stronger political will to tackle this crisis together.
Multilateralism is our best option to confront today’s global challenges.
In this regard, Thailand reaffirms our unwavering commitment to a rules-based multilateral system, with the United Nations at the centre, to uphold peace, stability, development, and human rights for all. Thailand is committed to mobilising our resources and experiences to work with all stakeholders in national, regional and multilateral actions to support these high objectives.
And as we look ahead, we are convinced that the UN Charter will remain a firm foundation for our shared future so that the United Nations can deliver on what it has promised in securing the future we want, a future we all can look forward to, and a future in which no one is left behind.
